Why Take a CCRN Certification Test?

For many nurses the CCRN certification exam is a life changing event. It is the highest credential available to become a certified registered nurse in most states in the United States of America. The reason for this is that this exam is very hard to pass. That is one of the reasons that every nurse needs to have at least a good level of CCRN before they can get a job with a local hospital or other medical center.

In order to qualify as a CCRN you need to complete and pass a very tough written test. The written exam is not the only thing that will qualify you but it is by far the most important part. Another thing that you need to do well on the CCRN exam is to be able to pass a mental state exam. A mental state exam will cover such things as how awake you are, what your thought processes are like and if you can make a reasonable judgment when you are under pressure. In order to pass this test you will need to have a decent amount of time to devote to studying for the exam. Most people who complete their CCRN training will spend about 6 months on the CCRN certification process.

Once you have successfully passed your CCRN certification test then you can take the actual test. This will be a written test and will involve an essay question and a management essay. You will have to answer the entire question and then explain your answer in complete detail to the nursing manager. There is a workbook that comes along with the CCRN course that helps students prepare for these kinds of tests.

Once you have successfully completed the written portion of the test you will have two more hours to complete the management portion of the exam. Again there are workbooks that come along with the course that will help you prepare for this section. Most of the CCRN training programs will expect you to pass both sections with flying colors. However, if you do not pass the first time you can repeat the testing centers. Just make sure that you do not take any shortcuts or skip any steps.

The third testing center that you will need to attend is a practical test. This is the last of three parts of the certification. Practical tests cover many different areas of nursing and health care. To be successful in this section you will need to be able to demonstrate your knowledge of a variety of topics. A typical practical CCRN exam will have a multiple choice type question and then a writing task. Some of the topics that will be covered include patient transport, emergency room procedures, lab procedures and administration of medications.

Once you have passed the first two exams your CCRN certification test is next. On this day you will have an opportunity to take practice tests that are similar to the real thing. These types of tests will help you ensure that you are ready for the real CCRN exam. In most cases these tests are given out by different testing centers, but some centers do offer free practice tests.

After the testing portion of the course is complete, you will be required to take a written final exam. This is typically a multiple choice or short answer type test. It is advised that you do not try to complete the test on your own. Instead, you should get some extra practice questions and then try to complete the entire test. Remember that when you take the test you will receive a grade out of 100. The higher the grade the better your chances of landing a job in the medical field.

The training course for becoming certified is not easy to complete. Once you have completed all the requirements and passed the CCRN certification test, you will need to recertify each year in order to keep your license active. With this information it is easy to see why this course of study is so important. When choosing CCRN training centers to make sure that they are accredited and that they offer a full money back guarantee in case you are unsatisfied with your purchase.
