The short answer is “No”. When it comes to nursing certification and tests, the CCRN test is designed so that it is easy for most people to pass. That being said, a two-day course is not enough to guarantee a passing score on any standardized exam. It is true that it is the fastest way to get your nursing certification. However, many people are unable to take a two day course because of financial reasons, time commitments with family and jobs, etc.
There are alternatives to the CCRN exam. If you do not have time to attend a traditional class, there are resources available that are specifically designed to prepare you for this challenging exam. These resources are very affordable and will save you time, money and stress. All the best!
Another option available is online course preparation. This option allows students to spend the same amount of time as they would in a traditional classroom setting without the added pressure of time commitments. Online learning can also be done from the convenience of your home. Some people even take advantage of the flexibility offered by distance learning to complete an exam for CCRN certification while on a business trip or vacation.
The CCRN (Certified Registered Nurse) test is administered by several different organizations. While all of them provide the same basic curriculum, not all of them administer the same tests. For example, the ACT (American College of Rheumatology) is the only organization that offers both the CCRN and the ACT test. Students can register for either the CCRN or the ACT in order to take the exam.
Both the CCRN and the ACT do offer both hands-on and written components of the exam. The most common format is the written section. This portion is usually comprised of multiple choice questions that are typically about 100 words long. Students will be asked to analyze and describe a sample case study for one or more patients with a particular ailment. After students complete their questionnaires, they will be provided with a “diagnosis” of the patient and their presenting symptoms.
The next portion of the test requires students to evaluate a video tape of a case study. This is usually conducted on the video camera at the testing facility. Students are required to watch the tape while it is being reviewed and they are also asked to analyze what they have observed. A typical time period for this portion of the test is 30 minutes, but some centers may extend that period based on the student’s performance. There is also an option for you to speak with an actual CRN if you feel uncomfortable about the video portion of the evaluation.
If the CRN test is too challenging, many students will fail the exam. This does not mean that it is not important to make sure you are as qualified as possible for the certification exam. It just means that you need to make sure that you find a great resource to help you prepare for your NCLEX-RN licensing examination. With that being said, keep in mind that this examination is not meant to be difficult. You can do well on it, but only if you are dedicated to your studies and put in the work. Take the time to learn about what you will be faced with, but do not let it keep you from enjoying this exciting new profession!
